I had a question- what have I done to earn 6 penalty points? And does that mean I will have to start from pits in next race? 
Now thinking about the car choice. Looks like a Shelby track, but I don`t want to take that. Probably going to drive Corvette, but really not sure about that. What others think about their car choice?

According to the regulations http://www.old-drivers-spirit.fr/fichiers/2010/reglement_champ.html  (Chapter J.2, page 12), you were to offen "off track" (outside the white lines) (shortcuts and/or using outside the track before/after a corner)

It's tolerated to go out of the track 5 times/hour (problems like braking to late or similar don't count) with 2 wheels.
You aren't allowed to go out of the track with 4 wheels (problems like braking to late or similar don't count).

In you case, the following "shortcuts/our of track were counted" (I don't know if it was with 2 or 4 wheels):
L1: 1.04-1.11, L2: 1.01, L3: 1.02-1.25, L5: 1.26, L7: 1.26, L8: 1.03, L10: 1.26  ...
So, the 5 tolerated "cuts" were over a long time before Lap 10.

I agree with you, it's a Shelby track. But I will not use the Daytona (but I knwo who will use it ). Peharps a Cobra, or Vette or GT350, I don't know, I will test them (and the track) probably tomorrow evening.

I can't inform you about the penalties, but you can be sure that Sergio (Sdp) will bring you up to date on simple request. EDIT : he did it 

According to the car choice, you're reason saying the 427 is the engine for this track. Then I wonder wether the E-type couldn't be competitive on the distance, by lasting longer her tires ... anyway I guess I'll test her as I like much both her shape and voice

Oh, it`s about short-cutting  
Now checked my driving myself and according to how I understood the rules, I was out of track only once during those first ten laps.  But other 5 times followed quite quickly (L11;L12;L14;L15;L16), so I accept the penalty and good to see you notice these things. Makes me (and hopefully others too) more aware of regulations
But I`m in doubts about you saying that I was off the track about eight times during first ten laps. As I saw only one in L3-1:01. Other times it was only two wheels outside the white line.

I've just been testing the track with E-type and Corvette :

- 2 27 xxx in Jaguar, after setting it up a bit. Possibly below 2 25 xxx imho, if you are a fast driver. So poor performance here, but tyres and fuel are really ok compared to shelby's  , this may make the difference, the more if you're competing against drivers not really mastrering Shelby's beasts  


- Corvette : not as fast as the Cobras, not as cool handling as the Jag (by far  ), burning pretty the same amount of gum and fuel as the 427er ... I feel the Vette is somewhat fucked up in this mod

The 65's vette is far from a race car, I never drove one, but compare to the effort done by real drivers (easy to see as example in Dijon next month) I think it could be so hard to handle, and it could be near to reality.

But the vette could be an interesting challenge

Uhm, tried connecting to practice server, but haven`t got the right track :S
Loading screen is the same as in the topic for the race.

You never need to download a track. All the tracks are in the Old Drivers Spirit Gamedata. You cannot use standard track that are available for download (like on rfactorcentral). Our tracks are modified for our races.

If you have an issue (that would be strange) just launch rfactor in trace mod (http://wiki.old-drivers-spirit.fr/index.php?title=RFactor:Parameters#Trace_mode) , try to connect and post the trace.txt file

The Hockenheim track doesn`t appear in the list. Though ODS client checks the installation directory with no errors. Added the trace file (I hope it`s the right one) in the yy.lv as it`s more than 256 kb`s.

To be honnest, I didn't practise till now, so I cannot be 100% sure that it works, but a lot of other drivers did without any problem, so I assume that's OK.

Your trace file is giving errors in the hockenheim79.ini file, so, something is wrong in your installation (as far as I can remember, the ODSClient don't check the tracks...)


I just checked the trace on the server and found this :
NetComm.cpp  6417: *** LOADING Human Slot "Freddy Fuller" (unmapSlotID 9, pid 1, nid 1, "129ESSO.VEH") @ et=  0.0023
NetComm.cpp  3011: Freddy Fuller "EXE" conflit config.
NetComm.cpp  3090: Freddy Fuller "HOCKENHEIM79.gdb" conflit config.


So, strange "EXE" confict, and after that ther gdb file which is the main file we changed for the 2010 season.

For the EXE error, I can't do something, for the .gdb file, try this one

Was ready to race yesterday, but got a call and instead went outside. Looking at results it looks like I wouldn`t have been competitive with my Porsche 911 2.4 anyway. Well, there`s endurance race next week. (: Just made a few laps with BMW and it looks like those will be tough 2 hours. Probably my soft suspension is to blame, but I`ll look into reasons why I have to put so much effort into getting a decent speed around corners later.
